RCEES Holds a Farewell Meeting for 2021 International Graduates

On June 25, CAS-TWAS Centre of Excellence for Water and Environment (CEWE) and the Education Division of Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences (RCEES), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), jointly organized the Farewell Meeting for 2021 International Graduates. Prof. Yang Min, Deputy Director of RCEES, Dr. Lian Jing, Director of Education Division, Dr. Liu Juan, Director of International Cooperation Office, Secretariat of ANSO Environmental Technology and Industry Special Alliance and some alliance enterprises, as well as 4 international graduates and several supervisors attended the farewell meeting.

The meeting was chaired by Dr. Lian Jing. The international students shared their lives and learning experiences over the past several years in China. They are proud of having the opportunity to witness the rapid development of China's economy and society. They considered China as their second motherland, and are determined to serve as a bridge between their home countries and China to promote collaborations between the two countries. Representatives of Lihero Technology and SCIMEE congratulated the overseas students graduating from RCEES and returning to their own countries, and expressed their willingness to have the opportunities for cooperation in the future.

In the summary, Prof. Yang Min pointed out that international students should not just be satisfied with getting a degree from RCEES, CAS, but should regard the experience of studying in China as an opportunity to catch the express train of China's development. They should try to find opportunities to work together with China. He hopes that all of the international students should think about how to develop their careers through working together with China. There should be a lot of opportunities.

International students have become an important source of students for RCEES. In the summer of 2021, a total of 8 international students graduated from the center, but due to the impact of the epidemic, only 4 students from Sri Lanka, Egypt and Ethiopia participated the graduation ceremony in Beijing. Before the overseas graduates returning to their home countries, CEWE will organize them to visit some alliance companies to deepen their understanding of Chinese industry of environmental protection.
